Hey You

WELCOME

I’M SO GLAD YOU’RE HERE!

Hey guys! My name is Hajar Larbah and welcome to Moribyan! This is my blog where I love to share all my favorite recipes and lifestyle tips with you all. If I’m not cooking here, I’m either hiking or exploring new restaurants.

I started Moribyan in my freshman year of college but it was always something I did on the side for fun. I got my degree in Nutrition/Dietetics at UC Berkeley and started working while pursuing Moribyan part-time. In 2020, I quit my job and went full time, dedicating all my hours of the day to building a platform to inspire you all in the kitchen.

    I STUDIED NUTRITION

I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in nutrition and dietetics to become a Registered Dietitian but ended up doing food blogging full time!

MY COMFORT FOOD IS MAC AND CHEESE

I can eat mac & cheese all day every day! And we don't discriminate against the boxed ones - especially Annie's White Cheddar.

I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY THE PIANO

I still think about taking lessons to this day. It's so soothing to me and I don't think it's ever too late to learn a new skill.

DID YOU KNOW

WONDERING WHERE THE NAME MORIBYAN COMES FROM?

It’s a hybrid of my two nationalities – Moroccan and Libyan. My mother is actually Moroccan and my father is Libyan so combine the two and you get MOR-IBYAN. North African cuisine heavily influences my style of cooking so there was no better name. All credit goes to my husband for creating the name!
