How to Organize Your Spices
I just moved to a new place with my husband and there’s no better time than a move to do a big clean out and reorganize your whole life together. That’s exactly what I did with my spices and ever since, cooking has been so much less stressful and messy.
How I Organized My Spices
I purchased everything from Amazon to organize my spices except the spices themselves.

The glass jars with bamboo lids are super cute and minimal! They have varying size options but I went with the 6 ounce one which lasts me quite a while before I have to refill it again. On Amazon, they come in a pack of 12 so I ordered three to fit all the spices I keep on hand.
The black and white label stickers I ordered fit perfectly on the 6 ounce jars. They come with 162 labels for a variety of common staple spices as well as unique spices.

I also ordered clear plastic shelves to stick in my pull-out drawer to lay the jars on. You can also choose to prop them up straight in a kitchen cabinet. It’s up to you. Just make sure to measure everything so the shelves fit in your drawers and the jars fit properly on the shelves.

WHERE to Buy Your Spices
I always try to avoid any major supermarket when buying my spices because they always come in such small containers while charging an arm and a leg for it.
Instead, I like to buy my spices from Costco and Middle Eastern grocery stores. They sell them in bulk and they’re so much cheaper. They can sometimes last you a whole year even if you cook a lot.

This list is just my own creation of the spices I use most frequently in my kitchen. These spices are also common in a lot of cuisines all around the world so they’re extremely versatile.

- Allspice: A must when making shawarma!
- Garam Masala: Can’t make butter chicken without it
- Dried Mint: Delicious on top of shakshuka or in fattoush salad
- Sumac: Love adding this to salads and homemade pita chips
- Cajun: Perfect for making cajun chicken pasta!
- Mustard Powder: Try adding it to mac and cheese!
- Cardamom: Commonly used in Arab and Indian cuisines
- Coriander: So versatile but my favorite use is to season taco meat
- Bay Leaves: Beautiful addition when you boil rice
