Mint Lemonade

A delicious and refreshing drink to enjoy on a hot sunny day – MINT LEMONADE! The lemons add a nice tangy acidity while the mint brings in a nice cooling effect all to create the perfect sweet drink. If you’ve been around in the Middle East, you can find this drink anywhere and everywhere because it’s just that good.

The first time I had this drink was on a hot summer day in Morocco from a fruit stand on the street and to this day, it was one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. Today we’ll be recreating it at home and even better! It takes less than 10 minutes to make and it disappears from your cup just as fast.

What You Will Need

The ingredients are super simple and will be very familiar if you have ever made lemonade from scratch before.

The Ingredients You Will Need:
  • lemon juice
  • lemon wedges
  • sugar
  • water
  • ice
  • mint

These ingredients don’t vary much across different recipes! It’s a pretty standard basic recipe but it just depends on how sweet or tangy you want the final result to be. I like a perfect balance of both, not too sweet and not too sour. Just right!

How To Make It

The best part about this recipe is there’s not that many steps to it.

The only prep necessary is squeezing some lemons to get lemon juice. After that, add the lemon juice, lemon wedges, sugar, water, ice, and mint leaves to a blender. Blend until completely smooth. And that’s it. I do not have a blender so I used a food processor which is why mine is on the chunkier side. Do not do this. Make sure to use a blender! Then just pour into cups to enjoy.

Note: The lemon wedges don’t make the drink bitter from the rind. It just balances the sweet flavor of the drink really well!

Oh so good! I’ve been wanting to make mint lemonade since my trip to Dubai, where I tried it for the first time. I have a nice blender, so this recipe came out so refreshing and delicious. Thank you!

I made this mint lemonade for my husband and he was OBSESSED. He asked me to make it for all our Ramadan gatherings and every single person who’s tasted it has commented on how balanced and delicious it is. I used lemons from our tree and mint from our garden and it is quite literally the perfect summer drink. THANK YOU HAJAR!!
