Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz French bread loaf
  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1/4 cup parsley finely chopped
  • 2 1/2 tbsp garlic minced
  • 1/3 cup parmesan grated
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • shredded mozzarella optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to broil or 500°F.
  2. Cut the loaf in half horizontally. Then the cut each half in half again but vertically so you have 4 pieces.
  3. In a small bowl, mix butter with parsley, garlic, parmesan, salt, black pepper, and oregano.
  4. Spread butter mixture over each piece generously. Optional, add shredded mozzarella
  5. Place on a baking tray and pop in the oven.
  6. Broil for a few minutes, about 3 to 6 minutes. Watch very closely as it can easily burn under broil very fast. Once the top becomes golden brown and the cheese is bubbly, take out of the oven.
  7. Slice diagonally or across into small pieces and serve.
Tips & Notes
  • If you do like your garlic bread extra crispy, bake it at 350°F until golden, about 10 minutes. Then add cheese on top and broil until the cheese bubbles.
